thanks for checking out our new release. it has been so fun to co-curate these L&S books (see where it all began here) ... waiting for the artists to submit their projects and then seeing it all come together ... and then putting it in front of a creative and excited audience ... i love the community that is building and the support for such a simple idea ... it makes me happy.

a little newsy bit today --
the Levitate/Sväva pieces are going to be in a show in Chicago which opens this weekend!
the curators, jessica & stephen, contacted me several weeks ago about being a part of the group show, entitled Structures of the Sun, and i was so honored. what fun for elisabeth and me. we wish we could go to the opening but perhaps if you're in the area you can go? it is this coming saturday, 6–9pm at Penelope's. the best part is that Penelope's is the cutest shop so you can peek at their wares as well; i used to shop there all the time when i lived in Chicago. all three pieces will be hung, with the other amazing work, and available for sale framed.

a tiny sneak peek of Lines & Shapes, Volume 2. monday is the release of the numbered first edition. all subscribers books will ship out first followed, just as quickly as we can, by any single orders we receive. Volume 2 is so wonderful and enchanting. very excited!

in other news, i am going to start sharing with you some 'outtakes' from my 3191 Evenings project. sometimes i'll post stephanie and mine in a diptych and sometimes i'll just share mine. for today i have featured my outtake from april 23.
i usually take 2-3 photographs and edit them down to 1 way before i get stephanie's photograph via email but it's always fun to revisit the old shots that didn't make the cut! if you want to see a bit more about 3191 and see some of our Morning diptychs (which are no longer available for online viewing), you can check out our latest interview with Expressions.

and as promised, here are the TOTES that i have been working on. this is just a small sampling of what is to come this summer (although they might not be these same words). i have been experimenting with printing on fabric for a few years but am finally getting what i want with the wood type and a lot of time playing. let me know what you think!

each of these totes of one-of-a-kind and printed on my letterpress with hand-mixed inks.
size is approx 11 x 10 x 4' and the color of tote fabric is canvas/cream.
they will come wrapped up in tissue & twine with a treat.

some sneak peeks for tomorrow's shop update.
i will have just a handful of little totes as well but i am going to post them here on my blog instead of adding them to the shop. they are all one-of-a-kind 'proofs' from the tote i worked on for Open Space and because of that you can just email me if you see one you like. come this summer i will have lots of little totes in the shop as well as some other letterpress-printed-fabric-fun (can't tell you now but will soon!).

hi.
working weekend here; i am really enjoying the white brick walls in the studio. they make me want to keep everything in my world very stark (as if i needed more motivation for that?!).
and i spent lots of time exploring the Visites Privées: Marie Claire Maison. i just love that magazine. the bottom two small photographs here are from a charming little place they toured (photos by Philippe Garcia). the decadence of that home against my stark studio was pleasing and so i have it all paired up above.

tomorrow, i'll show you a sneak peek of the new goodies going into my shop on wednesday. i will be out of my studio starting thursday for a few days so all items ordered this week will ship early next week ... and i will be doing free shipping once again for all orders placed while i am out of my studio (may 1-5) to thank you for your patience with the shipping.
