hi!
the last of the treasures for now come from my living room (image larger here)... i found a lot of books which i would not want to part with but i stuck with smaller and more random items: a few of my rocks picked up from special places including the large one which came back in my checked luggage from scotland + a delicate and beautiful little candle holder, another piece by karin eriksson (if you can't tell, i love her stuff so much!) + a tiny striped lavender pillow + a pewter LOVE tray which used to be my parents for years and is now mine + my swans island blanket throw which has so much meaning to me. the short story is that when it was time to say goodbye to raven, my special black cat, we took him to the vet in this blanket. it was his favorite even though i rarely let the cats on it. he spent his last moments on that blanket and i loved him so much. when i went back to get his ashes from the vet they had very kindly washed the blanket for me (inside my head i was like, 'you washed & dried a $300 wool blanket?!) and so when it came back into the apartment it had a completely different smell, feel, size, etc. it made sense. it seemed fitting that it would have been so changed after i was so changed having to say goodbye to raven. i'll never give it up.

well this week flew. thank you so much for your kind comments and for sharing with me. this has shown me i am even more sentimental than i thought. oh dear.
on monday i am so excited to show you the Spring Prints Set in collaboration with Lena Corwin; it is entitled: ROOTS (tiny sneak peek here). an edition of 75 sets will be in my shop around noon EST along with another tiny photography project. and if you are in brooklyn this weekend and want to see a sneak peek of the Spring Prints set, Lena will have some at her table, along with other bits of her stunning work, at the Brooklyn Flea.

mav- thank you for sharing all these little treasures of your life and home with us. i love hearing all the little stories, and your ability to take unexpected changes in stride (the pot, the washed blanket) is inspiring. to be sentimental, but still accept the necessary changes now and then. happy weekend friend!
