working with lena on the prints sets has been a real joy. this time we gave ourselves the assignment of ROOTS and she drew the most delicate and wonderful tree/roots for our collaboration. my sketches, made before i had seen hers, were mainly of seeds and sprouts so when i got her sketches, and saw that she too had used circles, i decided to enlarge my seeds in a layered fashion. i mixed a very pale cream tone and ran the prints through the press one time laying down one layer of large seeds, then her tree & roots and then another layer of seeds in that same cream tone. i just love the airy spring feel and hope to enjoy looking at them as much as i enjoyed printing/designing them. and my sincere thanks to lena for collaborating; we still have Summer and Autumn remaining.
